Employees from Ring Stones have taken part in a full safeguarding workshop delivered by Afta Thought, using real situations that staff across housing, construction and community settings have faced in the past.
Because Ring Stones’ teams regularly work in people’s homes and on regeneration projects, they often see things that others don’t. The training was designed to help colleagues feel more confident in recognising when something isn’t right and to know how to raise concerns in the right way.
Throughout the session, Afta Thought’s actors played out a series of scenarios based on genuine incidents. Each scene was paused at key moments to encourage open discussion about what should happen next, what signs might otherwise be missed, and how workers can safely respond.
Executive Director James Macaree said the training is an important part of Ring Stones’ responsibility to the people they work with every day: “Safeguarding training for a company like Ring Stones is important to deliver to all employees to give them the skills and knowledge and empower them to be aware of any safeguarding concerns whilst they are at work.
“I think the training provided today will empower all Ring Stones’ colleagues with the skills and experience they need to confidently report any safeguarding concerns and support the communities where we work.”
The session reflects Ring Stones’ values-led approach: doing the job well while looking after the people and places they serve.
By investing in this type of practical, scenario-based training, Ring Stones is helping ensure every employee feels equipped to play their part in safeguarding to ultimately strengthen safety, trust and wellbeing across local communities.
