Returning to work in Lancashire

Returning to work in Lancashire

Following a period of greatly reduced, or paused activity on our construction sites, and in accordance with current guidance from the Construction Leadership Council and Public Health England, we are now beginning a phased return to several sites in Lancashire to continue work on providing much-needed homes for local residents.

Our decision to return to sites with a reduced workforce has been made after careful consideration.

Alongside many others in the construction sector, we have a vital role to play in supporting the local economy, providing jobs and training, and building safe and affordable homes – which are needed now more than ever.

We will be resuming works on our construction sites as follows:

  • 11th May, Station Road Padiham
a continued development of 45 new homes for the local community
  • 11th May, Maytree Close, Briercliffe
creating 17 new affordable homes for the area
  • 13th May, Florence Avenue, Burnley
building 24 bungalows for older people or those with disabilities.

In order to do this, we are taking to utmost care to ensure that our sites are safe for our staff and the local community, and so that we can work can continue without comprising on standards and quality.

We have ensured that we have the right PPE (personal protective equipment) for all our operational staff, and that these are available wherever work is being carried out. Our employees will also be offered the option of being tested for COVID19 if they or family members show symptoms of COVID-19.

At each location, strict social distancing will be observed, with revised travel and transport arrangements and extra supervision for staff. Furthermore, all our sites will benefit from additional wash stations, intensive cleaning regimes and extra inspections.

These measures will be continually reviewed and updated in keeping with the latest government advice and safety guidance. Our commitment to our people and the wider community remains our top priority.

We are incredibly grateful for our teams, partners, suppliers and local residents for their support in helping get back to work in a safe, controlled and responsible way.
