Ring Stones Maintenance and Construction have been shortlisted for three prestigious Building Excellence Awards for their work on Calico’s Primrose Mill development in Briercliffe.
Primrose Mill – Calico’s first new housing development in Burnley – consists of a range of high-quality housing, including 48 two and three bedroom houses and bungalows, and 12 apartments.
The development has been shortlisted for the Best New Housing Development and Best Social or Affordable New Housing Development categories at the 2016 North West Regional Local Authority Building Control (LABC) Building Excellence Awards.
Ring Stones’ Site Manager Andrew Bottomley, who worked on Primrose Mill, is also among the nominees for the LABC Site Agent of the Year award.
All winners from the regional categories will automatically be shortlisted in the national awards later this year.
Mark Cutler, Managing Director for Ring Stones, said:
“I’m delighted that the hard work and dedication the team has shown throughout their work on the Primrose Mill development has been recognised by the LABC.
“Primrose Mill is a fantastic achievement, and I’m incredibly proud of the effort and work everyone involved in the project has put in, which is of the highest standard.”
“It’s also great to see Andrew singled out for the part he played in the project. Andrew is a dedicated, inspirational Site Manager who is always passionate about the work he does – he really deserves this recognition.”
Ring Stones were put forward for these categories by Paul Trippier, Building Control Surveyor for Pennine Lancashire Building Control, who carried out building control work on the scheme.
Paul said:
“I was delighted to be able to nominate Ring Stones’ work on the Primrose Mill development for these highly prestigious awards, as it is a prime example of how it is possible to deliver affordable housing with all the hallmarks of a prestigious executive development.
“This scheme was delivered in a very professional and considerate way, on a challenging site, that has resulted in distinctive high quality residential properties that anyone would be proud to live in.”
