Our journey towards net zero
We’ve committed to becoming a net zero carbon organisation by 2050 and we’re already making positive steps to reduce our environmental impact. From lowering our carbon emissions to championing diversity and supporting our communities, we aim to work together towards a greener future for everyone
What is net zero?
Net zero refers to the balance between the amount of greenhouse gas that’s produced and the amount that’s removed from the atmosphere. We can achieve this through a mix of emission reduction and emission removal activities.
What can we do?
To contribute towards a greener future for all, we’re starting by sourcing local materials to reduce transportation, recycling more waste from site and looking into ways to make our new projects even greener.
Our pledge
As part of The Calico Group, we pledge to minimise our carbon footprint and commit to striving toward Net Zero, while upholding our values. We recognise that climate change doesn’t discriminate and emphasise the shared responsibility we all have within our community to ensure future generations have a clean and sustainable world to live in.
Delivered through collaborative efforts, embracing diversity and raising environmental awareness, we pledge to continue to do the right thing and make a real difference to the community and our planet as a whole.

Solar panels
We’re working hard to dispose of site waste more responsibly. Where we can, we’re increasing the amount of materials we reuse and recycle; as well as sourcing materials locally to reduce transport emissions.
At Ring Stones, we support colleagues across the business to reduce their carbon footprint. We provide bespoke training for all onsite workforce and support colleagues to travel carbon friendly to site.
We’re introducing solar panels in our new projects, including our Dovestone Gardens development and all properties on our Kinross new homes.
The 17 Sustainable Development Goals
We’re inspired by the 17 Sustainable Development Goals outlined by the United Nations. These goals recognise that ending poverty and other deprivations must go hand-in-hand with strategies that improve health and education, reduce inequality, and spur economic growth – all while tackling climate change and working to preserve our oceans and forests.
